Live Facial Recognition on Uxbridge Road

Your local Neighbourhood Officers took part in a Live Facial recognition operation earlier today on Uxbridge Road, W12.

This operation took place as a result of your feedback and concerns amongst local residents. This was also supplemented by additional local Neighbourhood Officers who were on mobile foot and cycle patrol in the area, providing a visible presence amongst the community.

A total of three arrests were made as part of the Operation today, ranging from an assault, being wanted for stalking offences and being wanted for possession of a bladed article. This is one of many tools we are utilising to ensure our community crime fighting plans are effective in the Uxbridge Road area.

What is Live Facial Recognition?

Live Facial Recognition (LFR) is a real-time crime-fighting system that can help officers identify a person by comparing those who pass an LFR system with a watchlist of pre-authorised digital images.

It is a public protection and crime fighting tool, adding new technology to improve effectiveness in this vital policing task.

The LFR system will help officers with their work by flagging-up matches for officers to review and take further action as necessary
